  • Cupping is an ancient Chinese technique in which suction is created through heat, which is then applied to specific areas on the body. Depending on your condition, cupping may be applied in your acupuncture treatment, or alternatively you can book an express 30 minute cupping appointment. Cupping will often leave marks on the skin which will resolve within 4-7 days.

  • Moxibustion, or Moxa, is a traditional Chinese technique which involves burning a herb called Mugwort on specific areas of the body. Heat is penetrated deeply into the body to move qi and blood for therapeutic effect. Moxibustion is often used in acupuncture treatments. Conditions that may benefit from Moxibustion include:

    • Menstrual disorders

    • Period pain, endometriosis, PCOS

    • Digestive complaints

    • Constipation, diarrhoea

    • Musculoskeletal conditions

    • Pain, injury, tension

    • Sleep disorders

  • Pronounced “Gwah-Sha” - Gua Sha is an ancient Chinese technique which uses a tool or soup spoon to scrape areas of the skin to move qi and blood to relive tension and pain. Gua Sha often causes light “bruising” which will appear as red or purple spots on the skin, known as petechiae or Sha. Depending on your condition, Gua Sha may be used during your acupuncture treatment.
